Last of the Long runs

June 18th, 2010

So I got a week left.  Kinda of sad, but it is a new beginning.

Before I elaborate more on the future, I want to cover what I did today.

This morning before went to work I ran 2 4+, I deliberately paced myself.

This was more of a punishment run because I did not run the four plus twice last week Saturday just once.

I started my run at exactly 6AM.

My first run was OK, I completed it in 50:44

My second run I ran it in 51:52

Overall, including the small break between runs (to reset music, restart stopwatch, and record time) I ran it in 1 hour 43 minutes 34 seconds (end time was 7:43:34) or a pace of 12.04 minutes a mile.

I can live with that.

Now for the future

Next week my schedule changes dramatically, (actually it starts now), I will reduce my running, and increase me rest.  Also I will pay strict attention to my diet.

I will probably hit the gym as usual Tuesday but Friday is completely out.  Just a slow jog and a walk.

Monday my diet switches to strict.

Past next week.  I honestly don’t know.

My buddy Stephanie said this blog keeps accountability.  It is so true.  Right now, I am the plan is to close this blog off, and start a new one.  I am still flaky between Drupal and WordPress.  I need to decide and make it so quick.

Speaking for WordPress, current version is 2.9.2, after this post I will probably backup and upgrade to 3.0.

Another Fast Run

Seems like when I try to run fast, I can’t breath.  My lung capacity feels minimal.

Anyway, I tried running 1 lap as fast as I could, I reached a point where its normally about 6 minutes in just a few seconds above 5 minutes.  I finished it in pretty decent time.

Time 10:35:54

Last time I ran this, I did it in 10:53.78 so if my time is milestone

BUT

The although my run time my be considered a milestone, the real milestone is some shorts my wife purchased for me.

They were size 38.  WOW (little lose too), I recall wearing 44’s last year.

My Body Is There

So my weight is good, I feel like I can run the distance.

Now I can’t screw it up.  10 more days till the Marathon.

I did a 1000 calories workout today, seems like it is a lot easier to do at 1 gym than another.

I forgot to mention, Run Fat Boy Run looks to be an interesting and motivating movie.

Contemplating what next

Still busy and I was up late working.  I really had to sleep in.  But I did get a good workout in the afternoon.

Anyway, the past few weeks I was thinking about what I will do after the Marathon.

Some say I should continue the blog, others say to try Yoga, I have been shown another workout schedule.

Hmm I may do em all.

But the next focus will not be weight loss and distance running, I think it will be strength and speed.

Still Busy

June 14th, 2010

Forgot to post on time.  Real post time is 12:31 AM.  Will roll back time by an hour.

But I did run a 5k today.  Pretty decent time too.  I started off with my son but I eventually overtook him.  He seems to take the hare approach and I the tortoise.

So much things to do.  Kind of overwhelmed.  I need some time off.  It is comnig soon.

So Busy, So Tired, Not Enough Hours

So busy today, was up late working.  Also too tired to run because I got so much to do.

Anyway, will hit some pushups and sits ups.

Weigh in was late.  So I expected it to be heavy.

Hot Day Summer is near

June 12th, 2010

That means my year long trek is coming to an end.

Unfortunately I forgot how hard it is to run in the heat.  I only did a 1 four plus.

Time: 46:56

It was pretty decent time  but I was supposed to do two of them.  Was too freakin hot.

I started at 4:30 PM and weighed in at 252.6, I ended at 5:45:26 (after a cooldown walk)

I did lose some weight though during the run.

Rockin w/ noxplode

June 11th, 2010

I had to get work early today for part 2 of my class.

Did pretty good, was interesting.  But unlike yesterday, I took some noxplode before my workout.  WOW, it sure does work.  Burned more than 500 calories on the treadmill and elliptical (I think 326, and 225 respectively).

I also blew up on the sitting bench machine.  I never did the max on that machine.  Until today.  That qualifies as a milestone.

Finally when I got home, I ran an easy mile, son made me proud by jamming the first mile.  We hope he gets to 3 laps (about a 5k) by end of summer.

Long day

I am so glad today is a rest day for me.  I got up at 3:30 to go to work.  There was an online training class I had to attend and it started 6:30AM, I had to get up go to work get my area ready.

Anyway, got home passed out for a few then went for a 1 lap slow run and a walk.

Benching more

June 9th, 2010

This should have been in yesterdays post but I benched 225lbs yesterday.

Pretty good.

Anyway, today I did my normal 1000 calorie workout.  I think I just have 1 or 2 more of these before the end of this blog.
