Report

So I am finally getting to this report. It is almost 10 days late. I have decided to do 4 reports on my progress and try to target the 20th of every 3 months.

I was going to call it the Freshman Report, 1st Quarter report, but I am opting to call it the Summer report, to mark my activities during that particular season.

Anyway, I was going to call it the Freshman Report as well because this is like my first year of high school. This is where there is wonderment, new discoveries, and unknown challenges showing themselves.

June

June was actually a short month, because I started the blog on the 21st. There was some confusion at what I was weighing in, but after some testing, it was determined that the digital scale I have was the most accurate.

So on June 21, 2009 my official start weight was 295.4 lbs. I barely could run 1/2 a mile. But by the end of June I was running a mile and my weight dropped to 288.8 lbs. It is in June that I also started taking the supplement Lipo 6.

July

In early July I was reminded that I still had other things in my life. There was a fire at one of the Fisher Plaza where we have some of our servers and I was not able to get a full workout like I normally do.

I started getting more comfortable with a 4 mile route I was making. Granted I only ran 1 mile, and walked the rest but it was 4 miles.

It is also in early July where I started attending the gym at work. It took couple trys but I think I have established a routine.

Early July was so promising because my weight dropped to 283 but that proved temporary because it did climb up to 287. I noticed later that my weight could actually fluctuate this much.

On the 23rd of July I noticed I could run again. My legs actually were coming back to me. But I did notice pain in my feet and realized I may be getting plantar fasciitis. So I went to a running store where the filmed my legs and fitted me with insoles and good shoes. It did help.

On July 29th I was treated with a huge surprise, I cracked 280lbs and dropped to an amazing 277.6. This told me that I could lose a lot of weight suddenly, but I knew that a lot of the weight was water and it will come back. But I felt by the end of July, my weight was firmly under 280.

August

At the beginning of August we traveled to Canada. When we got back I was wrong about being firmly under 280. But like dehydration gives an incorrect perception of weight loss, bloat (drinking a lot of fluids and sudden consumption of food) gives an incorrect perception of weight gain. After a day back in the US I dropped back down under 280.

It is also this time I can tell people I run 2 miles in the morning. Not just run 1 and walk one. So in about a month and a half I went from barely running half a mile to running 2 miles.

Although technically it is still summer, I noticed it was getting darker earlier and daylight will become an issue if I want to continue running outside.

Since I was actually hitting the gym, I think it was time to start adding protein and vitamins to my intake. So on August 16th I purchased some. I have since consumed all of the Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60 and have gone to the cheaper 100% Whey, but I do think that the Amp Whey was better.

On August 20th though I finally cracked 270. Unfortunately, bloat caught up and pushed me to 275 at the end of August.

September

I can see bloat can be a real problem. It affects my running and ruins my morale. But at least I know it exists and it can be overcome in a day or two. By September 4th I was permanently under 270.

From historical files I found on my computers, I recorded that I stopped losing a lot of weight at 3 months. I am not sure why because the records do not go into detail on why. This time around I am going into detail and I feel pain in the back of my knees and my plantar fasciitis has not let up. It does get bad in the morning when I get out of bed.

Officially this report should only cover till September 20th, at that time I weighed in at 263.0

In the months, or 1 quarter of a year, I dropped over 30 lbs. If I extrapolate this rate over the rest of the year, I should reach my goal of 190 sometime in April. But there are some huge hurdles coming my way, it is getting darker, I am getting tired of my workouts, momentum is slowing, the holidays (lots of parties and food) are coming, and historically, this is where I get lazy and rest on my laurels.

We’ll see.

So I am finally getting to this report. It is almost 10 days late. I have decided to do 4 reports on
