AM ruined by BM

So I start off my morning run at a pretty good pace.  I am thinking, woohoo, awesome pace.  I got new shoes, there was a slight drizzle.

Then mother nature says otherwise.  She made me have to go to the bathroom near the end of my 1 mile run.

Don’t you hate it.  Also you have that dilemma, “Should I run to beat the clock or do I need to slow down to prevent an accident?”

Tonight I will work out at the work gym.  Also need to do an “Equalizer”.

Finally, weird double post on the yoga.  I guess it takes wordpress a while to save it to the mysql database.

Shall I do Yoga

So there huge psychological barrier at 282 lbs.

Last year I could not break it for 3 months. So maybe a change of activity will be in order to “trick” my body.

My little clique at work consisting of Abbie, Alison, and Rob are all saying I should try yoga. I am resisting the idea because I am fat, I don’t want to embarass myself, and generally, my workouts are a private thing. (Please open a curves for men).

We’ll see though, if I can hit 240 without Yoga I think I’ll feel better with my self esteem when I do try to twist my body.

To Yoga or Not to Yoga

Well I am closing in on 282lb which is a psychological barrier for me. You see last year I hit 282 and from March to June, I could not break that weight.

So the other members of my little clique at work consisting of Abbie, Alison, and Rob is recommending that I take Yoga to help with my breating and sleep apnea.

I think this may be a step I should take to break the monotony of my workout. The issue I have is that I want to be lighter (hopefully more flexible) when I do join because it would be a big blow to my self esteem if I “tear something”

I was hoping to be around 240 when I begin flexing on a a yoga mat.

We’ll see though.

Back to Normal Schedule

After a tough weekend, I am glad to actually go back to work because it brings in a sense of normalcy.

Last night I tried to walk 2 miles.  Couldn’t, mother nature forced me home after the first mile.

I gained some weight after yesterday’s weigh in.  But that is no surprise, that was a 4+ mile run.  Today’s weigh in seems more realistic but you need to look at where I started a little more than 2 weeks ago.  In about 16 days of working out I have lost 8 lbs.  That is unsustainable.  I would say half that (4 lbs in 16 days) is possibly sustainable with incredible effort.  2 1/2 lbs in 16 days, that is realistic.

Late Morning Run

So its about 11:48 AM, so you could say this is still morning.  But I did sleep in to help my body recover.

Anyway I thought the 4th of July plus the weird schedule I had the past few days would have ruined my progress.  It kind of did in a way, but the damage is minimal.

But I had a huge workout this morning where I finally got to run that mile uphill.  Before the work out I was 289.  But after the workout it is interesting, which is the official weight.  I will be the first to say that a lot of the weight loss is water weight.

A Wild 36 hours

So I did not post anything yesterday and it is already late today.

What happened?  Life did.

We have this data center facility we rent out from Internap which sits in a building called the Fisher Plaza.  At 11:15 PM a fire broke out and knocked out power in the building.

We convened via phone bridge, and I was called to Fisher Plaza at 3AM.  Where I stayed till about 5PM.  I got home for a little rest and did a bunch of Push Ups and Sit Ups.  I then went back at 8 where I stayed till 10:30.  Went home and back the next day at 6AM.

Today I was there till 12PM where things finally went back to normal.  It was a brutal experience mentally and physically.

So you can say I did excuse myself for Friday.   But today I still did run 1/2 mile and walk 1.5.

Holding Steady

I thought I was going to be heavier than what I weighed in today as.  Yesterday I felt like a consumed more than I try to limit myself to.

For Breakfast I went to Starbucks and had a Grande Caramel Frap w/ a slice of Lemon Lbs cake.

I did skip lunch at work, but I did eat when I get home, some pancit and bar b q.  Not much but I don’t know how many calories to tell you it was.

For dinner my wife made me this Fried fish, a huge plate of spaghetti, and halo halo.  This screams of calories, good news is I was able to resist eating everything, I left the dinner table still hungry.  My wife understood why I did not finish my plate.

Finally, I drank tons of water.  I’m pretty sure I had my daily gallon of water.

So it was a delightful surprise when I stepped on the scale.

Measuring how far the course you run is

I’ve been running the same boring route.  My cube neighbor ad work, Andrew, who is an avid cyclist turned me on to an awesome site.

Awesome site that can plan a route, calculate distance and estimate calories burned.  Already planned a new 4 mile route for Friday morning.

Early Run This Morning

I got and decided to try an earlier run this morning. That 1st mile is starting to get easier. But this time around, I had to use the bathroom bad. I don’t know if it made me run faster or slowed me down. Made it though.

Slight weight gain, but not unusual at all. Still happy that it is under 290.

Can still do a mile

I am started to feel the benefits of losing weight.  I notice yesterday that the Seattle hills aren’t as tough anymore.  I am not huffing and puffing so hard climbing them.  When I went running this morning I was concerned I could not run a mile, but I think I ran it faster than yesterday (mind you fast being relative).

What an increadible boost to my morale.  I could not believe it until I jumped on the scale.  In fact I had to weigh myself twice because I thought the scale was wrong.  I understand that I lot of it is the fluctiation of water, but still I will take this moment and smile.
